Professor Sunil Shah recognised in The Ophthalmologist Power List 2014

We are delighted to announce that Professor Sunil Shah of Midland Eye has been inducted into The Ophthalmologist “Power List 2014”.

The listing is of the 100 most influential people in ophthalmology is selected from nominations from all over the world and is subject to rigorous selection process by surveying the achievements of the outstanding men and women across ophthalmology.

In doing so, it celebrates their achievements and offers insight into the speciality’s contribution to society as a whole. The Power List aims to shine a light on the physicians, scientists, engineers and business leaders who are shaping the world of ophthalmology today.

Professor Shah’s biography on The Ophthalmologist website reads as follows:

Sunil Shah, a cornea and cataract consultant, is an advisor to the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence where he represents the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. However, he is most well-known as the inventor of laser epithelial keratomileusis (LASEK) in 1996, and continues to be an active cornea researcher today.
